Mr. German Tobias Morales and his wife Martha operate finca San Antonio with a focus on environmentaly friendly coffee. San Antonio de Esquipulas y Anexos, was founded in January 1968, Tobias and his wife Martha are the second generation of coffee producers. Some employees of the farm have been working on the harvest since the start in 1968. The farm knows the value of good coffee and is strictly anti pesticide. fter five generations of coffee growers, German and his family have been very proud of taking over the family business. German has sent his 3 kids to become agronomist at the ENCA school, the most prestigious guatemalan institute for agriculture. German also makes it a point to travel to every COE coffee compentition, making a name for himself and Guatemalan produced coffees.
San Antonio de Esquipulas, is located in the heart of highlands of Nim Jul, which it means Big Jewel, La Democracia, Huehuetenango. The property stands at 1,750 meters above sea level. Hot air srises from Tehuantepec plain, mixing with the cold dry air flowing down the mountain and protecting the region from frost. This, along with natural shade from the highland jungles, provides the perfect growing environment, allowing coffee cultivation as high as 2,000 meters.
